Customers Inspire Tableau 8.1

Although most companies “claim” to put customers first, we rarely feel that we have been heard or have had much influence on product offerings. That’s why it’s so refreshing when a company like Tableau actually listens and responds to customer needs. Tableau’s recent introduction of version 8.1 for Desktop, Server, Reader and Public incorporates many upgrades that were inspired by you, the customer. In fact, 50% of the new features come from customer ideas. You asked and Tableau delivered! As a Tableau partner, we are proud to be associated with such a responsive and innovative company.

Tableau 8.1 delivers a host of new features motivated by customer ideas ranging from enterprise features and enhanced mobile authoring to analytics and statistics improvements, and enhanced access to data.

These are the items that we found most useful in the new release:

Entire Tableau Product Suite

  • Now available in both 64 and 32 bit

Tableau Desktop

Data Source Enhancement

  • Improved Google Analytics connector provides Advanced Segments

User Experience Improvements

  • Copy and Paste between workbooks
  •    Tableau-8.1-copy-paaste-sm-300x204

  • Forecasting Improvements – forecast into the future with prediction bands, multiplicative models and support for fiscal years

Web and Mobile Enhancements
